You will ride up to an active volcano, drink a coffee that has just been picked up from the plant, sleep in the only latin hotel designed for cyclists and finally watch the mighty CONDOR fly above you. We will be waiting for you at 10 AM at International Matecaña Airport serving the city of Pereira, Colombia. After packing the luggage to our vehicles we will drive to Honda. We are going to be hosted by a private pool house where our Staff will be ready to recieve you and start taking care of your bikes in order to have them reay for the days to come. Please only worry about relaxing, at night our CHEF will be hosting a welcoming dinner for the whole group!

Climb of the Day Alto de Letras Viejo (Distance: 52km, Average Gradient: 4,7%)

Stage Profile

Today we will face the mighty OLD ALTO DE LETRAS. We are going to climb to the Nevados National Park through the road that was once the original ALTO DE LETRAS. This is a 52 Km climb that will take us from the Colombian tropics to a Active volcano.
After the ride we are going ot rest in the natural hotsprings of the Termales del Ruiz Hotel. Be ready to enter the Colombian Coffee area!

Climb of the Day Alto de Palestina (Distance: 8,1km, Average Gradient: 5%)

Stage Profile

Today we have a recovery ride through beautiful landscapes. We will have our first contact with the coffee lands. We will go down from the cold of the volcano to the the heat of the Colombian tropics, cross the city of Manizales and have a local coffee at the headquarters of ALTOS Cycling.
The stage ends in Santagueda where we will sleep on a private farm. In the evening a guest chef will teach us a Peruvian food class.

Stage Profile

Today we will face a challenging route around CALDAS. The fist part is the biggest climb of the day and then we will face some cool downhills. We will end the ride crossing the Cauca River (The second largest river of Colombia) to get to our farm. In the farm, our non cycling companions will have the day to go to a local coffee farm to learn the whole process of the Colombian coffee. At night we will make home made pizza in our wood oven.

Today we will move to another part of the Colombian coffee region. We will leave Santagueda through the emerald electrical dam and then we will go up the ALTO de la Ofrenda, this is a secret climb not very known to local cyclists, making this to be our little secret!
We will go out on a paved road and arrive in Filandia where we will sleep in the only Latin American hotel designed for cyclists

We will leave Filandia and head to Salento on a paved road. In Salento we will go back into the central mountain range of the Andes to cross to Santa Rosa de Cabal. Today we will go up the ALTO de la Patasola which has constant ramps of more than 20% of inclination. In Santa Rosa we will rest in a hotel with hot springs, it will be useful to rest your legs on them to face the last effort of our trip!

Last effort! We start our last stage by climbing and entering the mountain. We will face the ALTO of Potreros to get to the place we came to look for, finally we reach the NIDO DEL CONDOR.
In the afternoon we will enjoy this wonderful place hidden in the Colombian mountains, hopefully we can see the couple of CONDORS approach their nest to spend the night. At night we will do a closing event surrounded by a campfire and shooting stars!
